Naah! of course you can deal direct. Alternatively if your company uses an advertising agency get them to place it for you.
Also: see my private message to you

Have you thought of trying http://www.boatmatch.com/ they are very proactive and keep a large database of buyers and sellers, along with actively advertising on your behalf and whats more they offer a full brokerage service and all for only 2% + Vat commision (and an optional contracts service) . it would almost be silly not to try them. take a look at their website by clicking through to the buying a boat pages below and following the links.

Did you need to ask?!

To place your boat on http://www.ybw-boatsforsale.com (or on the partner www.yachtworld.com site) you need to be listed with one of the participating brokers. If you would like to know which ones are operating in your area, please e-mail alastair@yachtworld.com

To appear on the private boats for sale section of ybw.com you need to take a classified lineage or display advertisement in MBY (+44 (0)20 7261 2767) and/or MBM. (+44 (0)20 7261 2935). E-mail in both cases is boats_ads@ipcmedia.com

We also have a number of other online brokers advertising in our 'Buying a boat' section which you can access by pressing 'Buying a boat' on the bottom nav bar anywhere in ybw.com

How can you say that? This is a YBW site they can promote anything they damn well want on it and they would be dopey not to promote themselves they aren't a charity.

Re: P470

Hmm, I suppose we were quite quick off the mark. And they say women are impulse purchasers!

HWMBO noticed while surfing that the price had been drastically reduced on this one, and after a quick phone call, we went to see it, and err, put a deposit on it. All subject to the usual surveys, trials and T's and C's and stuff.

The story is that the last owner died very suddenly and the boat is being sold off by his accountants who are dealing with the probate. It's been up for sale for a while at something over 200k and they didn't sell, so they reduced the price to £155k. We took it out for a sea trial, which was ok, but the engines are a bit rough, so we've asked for a full engineers report and I had it written into the contract that the vendor puts everything right to our satisfaction or else no deal.

Survey is being carried out on Thursday, so if all goes well, it will be ours within a couple of weeks.

Just got to sell the other one now.....

Re: Guarantee

New forum terms and conditions: all views expressed by people nominally supposed to be working on this forum are to be treated with great circumspection on the basis that:

a) said staff are rarely let out of their bat caves and therefore don't have a clue what is going on;

b) said staff read every post (well nearly every post) and are therefore of questionable sanity.

Therefore IPC invokes the mother of all get out clauses specifically in relation to promises made regarding miles per page enhancements.

However, it's great stuff... :)
