Yet another whereisit if anyone is still playing. Its taken me 3 days to scan this pic including a trip to PCworld to check my scanner was working followed by a complete conmputer restore. Then 20 minutes on the helpline to get broadband running again. I was determined to succeed one way or another /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Thanks Brendan. After all that I still managed to cock it up /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I can probably quite easily work out where it is, so won't guess yet unless others struggle, which I doubt.

I was hoping you werent online /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. i cant remember the exact year but it was before the second severn crossing was built. A couple of Survey boats were using the pill as a base for surveying the new bridge supports at the time.

Sorry, am I disqualified? if so I withdraw my answer. We would welcome more visitors to our moorings, The Millers Arms is still open, they still put on a good pub meal with Brains,---------- beer

i may take you up on that if the weather isnt too bad next week,Whats it like entering the pill on small Neap tides and could I lie against the pontoon for one night to facilitate the walk to the Millers Arms?

Brains and Beer are an oxymoron - Had a pint in Cardiff on an international match day in 1975, and it was the worst I had ever had. Took 20mins to get to the bar, and then only drank about half an inch off the top. Left the rest.

which reminds me of an old joke: What's the similarlity between Brains bitter and making love in a small dinghy? They are both f***ing close to water !! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Was a constant view in my youth. I lived in South Wales, and at one point, had a girlfriend on other side of channel, very close to the bridge. So knew the area extremely well, but not by boat.

All my boating was done in W Wales.

Its an aquired taste and certainly not h20 .They probably kept some "special"barrels for the visitors. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If you had looked at the barrel it would have said
<span style="color:purple"> "WARNING - Low Alcohol Content" </span>
<span style="color:red"> "REJECT" </span> -
<span style="color:red">"Keep for Wales v England Match >> English supporters only" </span>

Once had 5 barrels of this stuff at our foreshore regatta, I remember 2 visitors got drunk, one fell off small cliff other broke leg climbing onto his boat, good night though! it was all inbibed so could`nt have been all that bad.
