Looking at that picture reminded me - and I know you haven't done the same, btw - of the very first time I rigged the sails on my first "big" boat. I had never used a roller furling genoa before and I was particularly proud of the blue and white striped effect I had achieved - until a kindly soul pointed out that it might be better to roll the genoa up in the opposite direction so that the sacrificial strip actually covered the working part of the sail. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
 
It was a nice sail in the morning we had a excellent sail to windward in about 10-12 knts very close hauled
Unfortunatly in the afternoon the wind dropped and had to motor to cowes
but later we had enough wind to sail back it was me and another forum member very easy with just the 2 of us didnt quite get the thing above the tiller which seemed to make the mast bend towards the stern
