good to see Newport at low tide - now I know why it appears a bit shallow when I stray from the centre of the channel /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Shy Talk. Glad you appreciated the difference in water hights. For those visiting Newport Harbour, you can now see why you have to keep religiously inside the channel. The second pic was taken from the pub that you see coming up on the port side and looks onto the position I was in when taking the first picture.

If memory serves me right, the cans you see in the 2nd pic are the last before entering the harbour. Keep to mid channel because if you close onto the pub you will ground!
