Where to lay up?

Hi All
Coming to the end of my first season of Boat ownership and due to my Anti fouling proving extremely popular with the local flora and fauna I'm looking for somewhere to haul out for the winter preferably without having to take out another mortgage, any recommendations for the Blackwater / Colne area?

Where do you keep her during the season? The yard I keep Rhoda Rose in is cheap but joining a local club would be cheaper still.

I have used Morgan Marine at Brightlingsea but you need to watch how they chock up your boat to get het level.

How about Tollesbury Saltings Ltd. Nice people, very boaty area, local chandlery not bad.

I am currently moored at W Mersea Don't think either of the local clubs have haul out facilities

West Mersea Marine and Peter Clarke have the wherewithal I believe. Alternatively use the scrubbing posts on the Hard? Scrub, re-anti foul and back on the mooring for some winter sailing. There are scrubbing posts in Tollesbury marina too.

The Yacht Club has winter storage facilities in City Road but you have to use Peter Clarke's to be slipped and chocked.

You could always try ' Underwoods Hard Ltd' in sunny Brightlingsea, up to 32ft, £350/ season. Haul in and out, £75.00 each way.

We used to haul out at Peter Clarkes when we had a mooring with him in Mersea, good people who will take care of you and not expensive.

We're in Tollesbury now and there's room here either in the marina yard or the Saltings, but it would make sense to stay on the island if that's where your mooring is
