Where to go in Portugal

Yep, agree. No problem anchoring in the bay and quite well protected though getting a touch crowded last time we called in. There's a Jumbo hypermarket (or used to be) up the hill from the marina that sells just about anything you can think of, so is great for provisioning the boat.

When we first went there, the marina wasn't finished and boats were welcomed free of charge for as long as they liked - bet it ain't free now!!!! We anchored as usual and left our dinghy at the yacht club, a really friendly place, one of whom's members insisted on launching his sportsboat to run us back out to our boat!!

Cheers Jerry

Stopped over there last month and whilst the marina was fairly full - the bay only had three yachts at anchor. Jumbo Supermarket still there - up by railway station. Yacht Club totally demolished since last year and in process of being rebuilt. Plans look like it will be speccy. In the interim they have limited facilities / offices set up in marquees - but just as friendly.
Cheers

Anchorage is great but nowhere to land the dingy except on the sandy beach which gets crowded. Good place to catch squid for supper!

I don't think so. There was a rather battered looking schooner but it had no one on board. I believe it was towed away and sunk but don't know the name.
