Where to get Marine grade wood in Essex

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking to get some Marine ply to use as backing for some new bits and pieces I'm planning on installing over the winter.

Question is where can I get Marine grade ply, Teak, Iroko and other marine wood from in Essex?

In addition I'm looking to replace the cabin sole in my boat is there anywhere in the Essex area that specialises in Marine grade wood products?

Dauntless at Benfleet have a good supply of teak and other hard woods in odd sizes, lengths and shapes. You have to go there and ferret around. No cards taken. Be prepared to buy lots of other stuff you hadn't bargained on!

Some timber yards stock marine ply. Ring round a few. If it's not 50 quid a sheet then it's probably exterior grade but not the real McCoy.

Could try Thorogoods - I have not used them for marine ply but their hard wood selection is good.

There is also Brooks Bros in Maldon and danbury but I found their prices a bit hard to swallow in the past.
