Where to get 2nd Hand sails

A friend of mine was much taken by an article suggesting sails as garden awnings. Does anyone have a lead on sailmakers etc, who might have sails to dispose of.
Condition is largly irrelevant indeed a little damage might add character?

As long as you don't want a specific sized sail, for your garden awning, I suspect asking here would be as good a way as any to be offered 'not required on voyage' sails for a small contribution to the beer fund, or the RNLI box.

Nice idea but I suspect the shape would cause them to gather a lot of water, not to mention noisy in a breeze.

In Australia shade sails are very common and are made of a permeable material. They are becoming available over here and are quite cheap. try a google.
