I'd avoid polythene of any type - it's flexible and will add next to nothing to the strength of the mounting. As mentioned above, laminate your own then bond them in place using resin mixed to a paste with filler, clamping till cured.
Cut your laminate to shape using a hacksaw or metal-cutting jigsaw blade. Before bonding, abrade both surfaces thoroughly. Forget the popular bull**** about having to use epoxy.
