Where to buy extra large battery box for 180ah battery

You probably can't, but why do you need a plastic battery box? If the battery is restrained from moving, it doesn't need a box.

The 2 current 180AH batteries are in plastic boxes and are under the nav station seat, and looking to add another one under one of the floor panels so that will need some protection, although you make a valid point.

Other option would be to use one of the boxes under the nav seat I suppose.

I plan to do something similar this winter. A battery box gives the added protection when you drop that screwdriver onto the battery terminals by mistake...

Never bothered with battery boxes, just ratchet straps to hold them in place. The two batteries that are in an often use does locker have a wooden 'lid' over the top to protect the terminals made up some scrap ply and battens: the retaining strap goes over the top of the lid. Given that all the batteries are sealed lead acid, I see no point in boxes for them. Perhaps flooded cell batteries might need a box for any spills, but that type of battery was fitted in the boat as original equipment with boxes.

Thanks all,

Think I will just use one of the 2 existing large battery boxes that are under the nav table seat, as the seat itself protects the batteries there. I just want to give the new battery I am going to install under the floor plate (but not in the bilge!) as much protection as possible as we also store other items in that part.
