About 7 years ago we went to Beaulieu boat jumble and bought a used boom from a company who supply new spars and take the old ones in part ex. We need a boom for the new boat but can't afford a 'new' one so does a kmow of a company / companies that sell second hand ones?
Thanks.

I guess you have tried eBay? I was really lucky in finding a rudder, tiller, mast and boom for £20. The mast was bent but the boom fitted a treat on the Alacrity and the rudder will when I've gently persuaded the pin with an angle grinder

I realise I was very very lucky, but you never know your luck!!

Boom

A boom can be made out of any tubular aluminium of suitable dimensions. You don't need a track for the bolt rope and can use double sided velcro to hold down the clew.
I have recently made a new boom out of a piece of broken carbon fibre dinghy mast. It is perfect and light weight. You will need a way of attaching the boom to the gooseneck and of course it must be long enough to suit the main sail. PM me if you want more details on fitting reefing lines outhaul and mainsheet attachments olewill

Have you tried the barge at Bursledon ? Chock full of secondhand kit with a place for spars just alongside on shore; I believe now part of Aladdins Cave, worth a google & phone call.

I have a black anodised boom 255cm long off my Seawolf 26 that I was going to advertise here.

There's two for you! Place a wanted ad with more details of your requirements and I'm sure there will be more.

Hi, tried to post here earlier, but lost signal, i have used a company called Versatile marine, i know they break boats, and broke a 28 ft about a couple of weeks ago, worth contacting, of the top of my head its versatilemarine.com or .co.uk. Good luck.

How cheap do you want to not pay?
How versatile are you at adapting?
I got a price for a plain 8m long mast today from Z-Spars. Now bearing in mind that I will have to transplant all my rigging onto the new mast as I am only buying the extrusion it's no brainer not to go this route. (My existing mast has a small hole corroded in the alloy)
It might be a route worth investigating!!
