Where next after RYA course?

I recently completed the RYA Powerboat course and will soon take the Motorboat day skipper.

Thoroughly enjoying both and want to give boating a real go.

I’m unsure where to go as a next step. I live in London, so could try to build experience on the south coast.

I’m also pretty mobile though so could also look to spend more time in Europe. South of France and Croatia are my preferred locations.

I assume small boat day charters are the best way to learn initially? I would be up for buying but don’t want to rush in.

It would also be great to go out with someone more experienced a few more times. Any hints on the best way to do that? Should I be looking at clubs, or hiring 1-1 training?

Sorry I’d they are silly questions. Just a little overwhelmed and unsure about the best way to build experience and confidence after the course.

I have just been through similar steps to you, Powerboat 2, Day Skipper for motorboat, Diesel Engine, Radar, VHF etc, and I joined a boat share club. There are a number in Portsmouth, Hamble, Poole etc. Must be some near London. I take a boat out once a month. May step it up when I come to renew.

I joined Pure Latitude which I am happy with so far.
