Aren't there any boat builders left at Burnham?? One of them might be able to help.
If you want a college course, then try via the University clearing system that is all the rage at the moment.
If you want an apprenticeship, then there might be quite a number of people looking for a hard working person - places like Brightlingsea, Maldon, Burnham, Tollesbury, Ipswich (Oyster marine at Foxes) all come to mind.
