yep I knew that, just didn't bother making the point. So why should the focus controls make any difference to the waterproof quality? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I would guess (ok it's a guess) that the centre focus slider mechanism + one adjustable lens is more prone to water ingress (and nitrogen egress) than two adjustable lenses. Izzat sensible, or a lot of Friday afternoon crap?
