...anti-foul paints. I have settled on Cruiser Uno for my winter job (unless you can persuade me otherwise) and all I need now is the cheapest chandlery store for the stuff.

Bleedin' 'ell, ain't paint expensive!!

Wouldn't like to do tcm's Leopard :)

Have you tried Screwfix's antifoul paint? Made by a small company in Burnham on Crouch - £39.95 / 2½litres. Free delivery if you have two tins! I've used it and it's as good as other cheap paints, I'll be using it again next year.

3 litres for sixty quid <A target="_blank" HREF=http://marinestore.co.uk/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=PLYBA390-2.5&Category_Code=antifoul-international>here</A>, which doesn't sound too bad, though I don't know what p&p does to the price. Not sure how long International will carry on selling 3 litres for the price of 2.5......

BTW, I've used Cruiser Uno this year and I've been pleased with the results. So far as I can tell, some slime, but no barnacles and weed. I'll know more when we take the boat out in a fortnight's time/forums/images/icons/frown.gif. Theoretically only suitable for boats travelling at less than 25 kts, but hasn't been a problem for me because (a) I seldom go any faster (young kids + choppy Solent = caution) and (b) I don't reckon the occasional 30+ knot blast does much harm - and neither did MBM when they tried it on Calm Voyager.

Thanks Dick - I have heard of screw-fix paint and other products, but I reckon its the speed that'll kill it. Although I don't go deliberately fast, the boat has a cruising speed of 25-35kts and a top speed of 42, where conditions permit (not to mention my wallet). I reckon that's what loads the price for MoBo anti foul.
