Just got back from Fowey, empty visitor buoys & pontoon spaces
Whole place seemed really quiet to us!

Well there's been a lot of publicity here about hiked visitor mooring prices; maybe people are voting with their keels as Salcombe discovered.

A shame as Fowey is my favourite harbour, but it has to be said one doesn't get much in the way of facilities.

They have all sold up and bought caravans.......

Not yet summers hols!

Last time I was there... August 3 seasons ago(?). It was that big spring weekend that you went to Dartmouth and did it in record time on one tide.... The place was heaving... Shore side was even worse, totally covered in grockles...

Hmmm, even the town was quiet! I've seen it busier in Spring, we were absolutely amazed.

Just spoke to a friend who is in Dartmouth.

He reports the same lack of boatie traffic there.

Again, not sure if it's a week before kids summer hols so just before the rush, or a sign of a diminishing number of people touring the west country in their boats.

Cheers

Just been in Fowey
£18 per night for my little 7.4mtrs

It looked pretty full to me , most bouys taken.

Mind you we actually got into Sam's at about 6pm , that might tell you something

Is summer Hols in some areas and with this weather would have expected anyone who can get away (I.e those not constrained by schools) to have been out and about.
