assume everyone is lucky enough to be out on the water. If you are able to read this - go on, fuel my envy and tell us where you are?

I'm stuck in the office (though we did have two weeks in foreign parts in June/July, so shouldn't complain too much).

Hope to get Ocean Lady out again over the August bank holiday and maybe a few days in September/October.

Other good news is that Artemis (Achilles 24) is finally mended, so I should have her out and about on the Crouch for a few weeks. looking for temporary home if anyone knows any bargains...

Fecamp preparing for return Saturday to Eastbourne. Plan to hide from what seems to be quite a lively Sun and Monday then work our way to Ramsgate and home by Thursday hopefully. Eldest has to be back on Friday so if this wind sticks around longer will work on plan B to get her home and the sail back with remaining crew.

Just got back from a trip to Calais via Ramsgate and then Calais to R Deben - got in last night at 1800. Had 2 eldest grandchildren with us, who are getting their sea legs - no mal de mer this year!

Stuck indoors recovering from eye surgery. Wife has forbidden me from going anywhere near the boat. So don't feel to despondent.

Mind you, if this operation (artificial cornea implant) works I may no longer be a 'Blind sailor'.

Plenty of summer left to go out and play

Steve

Just got back this morning 0730 hrs from Brighton last leg of return voyage from the West Coast of France, left Burnham 14th June. Had lovely weather, summer over now?

Yes mate, under Mr Wilkins. Been a regular there for twenty five years and still never get invited to the Christmas party!

Do you work there Sailorman?

If so, I reckon you all do a fantastic job, I would have died, literally, if it had not been for Moorfields.

I was supervisor on site installing the 4 new theatres in 1983/4 ish . There were already 4 existing theatres by Honeywell, i worked for Medical Installations from Cambridge, ours were lined with beige treaspa that is really good for boat backing plates being 12m/m formica type material

Sat in the study looking out at a large puddle that is the size of the road!
Just sorting out the best route to Silverstone as I am in duty there this weekend.
Off to the boat on Monday for 2 weeks.
Hope the forecast is wrong!!

Fingers crossed for you, but decided to err on the side of caution and postpone our summer cruise for 10 days - being stuck on the boat in rain and wind for days on end is not much fun.

XO (only crew) still not fully recovered from recent shoulder op either.

Currently outside St Peter Port marina on a buoy waiting for the 4am tide to set off for Studland. The CI's are lovely, we need longer than a week next year. Three weeks of holiday left. Number 2 daughter joining us next Saturday. It's been a good summer so far. I was asked for my address yesterday and couldn't remember it, I reckon that's a good sign ;)

Who are yer ???

Just got back to Tollesbury after a short trip to Calais for a day or so.
Typical mixture of good sailing and the having to motor the whole way from Calais to Ramsgate.
Today was marginally better only having to use the engine here and there when the wind died.
9/10 times we have been becalmed at fisherman's gat. Crossed the SW sunk at nigh on low water.
Least depth around 7 metres.

Regards

Ian
