Had a little windfall and want to buy myself a Yeoman Sport plotter. I want the one with the hard back which does not need a chart table. Is it called the Sport or the SportXL. Can you recomend the best place to buy one, preferably mail order?
Thanks

I do not think this is a price issue only. Look at the power needs of a good color LCD chart plotter. You might want to think again.

I disagree totally. I have had a Yeoman for many years, I also take a mobile PC with SeaPro Chart Program which is fantastic and I have just purchased a Garmin 2006 Chartplotter, again really good but I would never leave port without the Yeoman. It will never be outdated as it uses real paper charts, has a real feel and is easy to use. I am not a technophobe and really like chartlpotters and PC software but there is still nothing to beat real charts.

<font color=blue>Whole heartedly agree, unless you can afford a full sized commercial chart plotter then the Yeoman wins hands down giving the advantage of both paper charts and electronics. The restricted view on the small screen of a Chart Plotter leaves much to be desired.

Me too

At least with the Yeoman you have a proper position marked on a chart so that if all fails you can go back to traditional methods.

I bought mine (Sports XL) at a special price Kelvin Hughes at Southampton boat show, and they threw in a free folio of charts (of my choice).
