Where does bilge water come from?

Rudder stock used to but only under way and therefore more difficult to see, repacked and cured now. Stuffing box is new and needs a tweak. Calorifier has an expansion tank but still squirts very occasionally from the PRV on a long engine run when it gets hot hot hot.

The short length of exhaust hose between the silencer and skin fitting had never been replaced but all other hose had. Due to movement when the engine was running the wire reinforcement had fatigued and penetrated the rubber, allowing leakage into the lazarette and thence to the engine bilge. It took me two years to find that one.

My Jouster had a bit of missing sealant under the traditional Westerly tyeak subbing strip. Water would get in there, but on;y when she was well-heeled, then through a slightly loose fixing bolt, then run down behind the side lining of the cabin to wet a cushion two feet below and three feet along from the leaks. About five years, I think.
