Where do you mount your Solar Panels?

Just in front of the sprayhood on the Rustler 44. You can walk on these.

That looks a nice set up. What make and wattage is the panel?

I bet theyre not cheap.

I have decided to just put mine up when I'm not sailing. So I have just bought 2x 20W panels that I can fit together with a couple of hinges and they will store under the cockpit seats where the batteries are and where I can fit the dual controller. I'll just lift them out and clip them to the guard rail - job done I hope!

£25 each for the panels and £27 for the controller plus cable and a couple of connectors total £90. The panels went up to £32 two days ago but Sunstore let me have them for the old price :D

Wish I could sail 80% of my time, wot a life! :D

I used to have two tiny £15 10W E-Bay panels shoved behind windows on the old boat and they kept the batterries charged OK. I only use one light and an occasional GPS (just Solent sailing!), no pumps, TV's, electric windlasses etc.

That's what I did. Looks about a 30w panel. You could get 2 on that space. AND they're available and working all the time with no need to slant them to the sun.

The panel is a Solara M series. 68 watts. There is room on either side for two small 35 watt ones as well, but the 68 is enough for my needs.
