Where do you keep sails

Hmm not thought of that I will soon add in the caravan to my list :D :D

It came about because I did have them in daughters bedroom while she was away at Uni. So come Christmas it was either the sails moved to the caravan or the daughter did. I lost, she won.

If its any consolation my daughter is only six, if I did the same she would still win...

Seems a lot of trouble having to refit them when you go sailing. Mine are on the boat, I bought a boat to go sailing 12 months a year, I really dont understand summer sailors

One is at the sail makers for repair and storage (free storage). The other is laid out under our bed warm and dry. However if you enjoy a good drink or are incontinent then they will be warm only and the later may not apply. So far I am alright.

At least 30m off either beam, preferably to the yachts leeward / my windward side, unless some bugger tacks right in front of me without looking. At say 18-20 knots my wash line is about 10m wide, so that leaves at least 20m un disturbed water between me and you raggies, and the time the wash ripple does reach you it's barely noticeable, and I do regularly monitor how much motion I cause others.

If storing in sheds caravans barns etc, don't put sails on the floor but more importantly never against any wall as rodents like to run along the wall/floor junction. Hanging up is probably safest.
How do I know? During the foot & mouth epidemic another school stored about twenty grands worth of paragliders in a garage, on a shelf but against the wall. There was a continuous tunnel gnawed through the lot! It cost a fortune to repair and the wings must have looked like they had had smallpox when they were eventually flown.
