I need to tighten the locking nut at the end of the steering cable. According to Lewmar it needs to be tightened with 40Nm torque. What is the most economical source for a torque handle with an open ended fitting for a 17mm nut? I have looked on eBay where there is an open ended bit but no wrench for it

Thanks

all nuts according to manuals will have a torque value, you might be getting "too far under the bonnet" :D

Tudorsailor: take care using it: obviously it's not as positive as a socket. Knuckle-skinning is only too easy in a confined space.
Thanks for the warning. I am only used to using torque screwdriver when putting screws into fracture fixation plates. Then one just gets a click as the screw stops turning but the handle carries on. Will experiment with the spanner now before using it for real
