Your advice please. I am intending to sail from the Blackwater to the Medway next week.

I am not sure about where best to cross the Yantlet Channel.

The Port of London Authority recommend small vessels cross at the W Leigh Middle Buoy, which means doubling back to the Medway entrance.

Do people tend to turn South at W Shoebury starboard buoy and go across there?

I could not find any old threads on this, which I am sure exist.

That's what I did last time
Wish I had done it on slightly more of a diagonal as it was wind against tide so was a bit choppy.

Just go where it suits you - it's not a TSS. I would go across diagonally from the S. Shoebury buoy.

The crossing further down is really aimed at boats going up river so that they are on the south side of the main channel going past Canvey before crossing back. Have a look at this which relates to PLA area.

MoBo..ing or Sail ?

When we go to Burnham, tend to go via the most direct route giving the most comfortable passage regards wind n tide.Just need to keep watch out for the fast RoRo stuff doing 20 knots and the ensuing wash.
Ch 74 is the most useful channel to listen on.
Are you bound for particular marina or just cruising around.
