Where can I try out some chartplotters on the South coast in-store?

Hi,

I'd like to get a new chartplotter, but so far my only experience is with a Standard Horizon so would like to see what else is out there.

I've been into a couple of force4's but there wasn't much of a selection.

Not wanting to wait for the Southampton boat show, I was wondering if anyone knew of somewhere with a good chartplotter display?

Many Thanks

Tim

Which Force 4 did you go to? Shamrock Quay only have a couple of plotters, but I remember Bursledon having many more.

A mate said he tried out lots of them somewhere in Portsmouth, I think it may have been Marine Superstore.

Definitely good call to try them out in the flesh before buying, though.

Hey pete,

I tried the one in Chichester, and also Hamble, out of the two Hamble were better.

Yep they're too expensive not to try out :)

Thanks I'll try Marine Superstore and see how I get on.

Quick update

Marine superstore had a brilliant display and a guy from maydaymarine.co.uk helped me choose a plotter. Not quite sure what the relationship between him and marine superstore is, but he knew the staff and is fitting my new chartplotter on monday! :)

Thanks for the help guys :) might actually do some of this sailing lark soon!
