Where can I get?

I have just destroyed the gizmo which is attached to the rubbish bin and which opens the lid when the locker door is opened.

Anyone know where to obtain a new one (perhaps a new bin has to be purchased with it as it may be integral)? I am searching all the online chandlers but so far nothing has come up.

Piece of string and a well placed block? Door opens, pulls string out, string pulls lid up. That's how mine works.

Don't even strictly need a block, the same setup can be made with string and three small screw eyes.

One on the door, one on the back of the locker and one on the lid. Tie onto the door, pass through the one on the back and tie onto the lid. Total cost probably less than £1.

Oh I can understand it... one hand for you, one hand for the boat.
Holding on with one hand, the other hand opens the locker, then grabs whatever and puts it in the bin... easier if the locker door opens the bin than if you need to open it too.
