I'm asking here as someone may have purchased some in the past.

See this insulation roll: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Heat-Exha...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a95d0ccec

Does anyone know where I could get this in sheet form? As per my previous thread, i'm going to play with the idea of installing a mini-oven, I would like (for extra safety) to stick some of this insulation (if available on sheet form) to the sidewalls (not of the oven, as it needs to be ventilated)

If you can leave a small gap around the sides, with heavy reflective foil on the surrounds, and plenty of ventiation able to circulate up across the hot surfaces, the cool wall effect this provides is quite remarkable.

Interesting theory, which I *think* I understand.... do you mean, leave a gap between the oven and the wall, and put a reflective foil on the wall?

I've just found this product, what you think? http://www.heatshieldproducts.com/marine/marine-heat-shield-insulation/marine-lava-shield-mat
Nice and slim which will help the fact I don't have much of a gap, and self-adhesive

Does anyone think this will work to wrap around an eberspacher exhaust that runs through a cockpit locker, and depsite the woven glass covering still manages to melt fenders / tenders / buckets if they get too close?

(I know, mobo forum, but....)

Don't see why not. If you look at the link in my original post, that is what I currently have (well, very similar) on my Eber exhaust

If you have the space, you'd be better off making a heat shield that leaves and air gap and covering the inner surface with the above rather than wrapping it over the existing insulation

Just use Rockwool, the oven temp wont touch it
Thanks for the tip, but I want to get a slim adhesive insulation product, as space is critical (I need to leave space for ventilation)

I currently don't have any insulation. I offered up the new oven today and there's a 2" gap all round, so if I can just get a slim adhesive insulation product i'll be sorted.

After trying this today, I DO NOT recommend it. I put this on and tested... started to smoke! Ripped it straight out. I'm now going to go to an Eber dealer and buy the proper white heat shield material they supply (Well, that's what's currently on my boat but it's starting to fall apart so time to replace)
