Where can I get one of these?

Jimmy, by the time you find these it would have been quicker to bought a tig set and learned to weld lol

:D Mate you're not wrong, and after these coachroof cushions I've still got overcarpets, new covers, new cockpit upholstery, new stairs and the backlit name still to go. I need to get out more.

Cheers

Ok, I know Mr Kawasaki is particularly interested in this, so here's an update: it turns out that these parts are not off-the-shelf components, but were custom-made by Belmar Engineering in Hockley. Essex Boatyards helpfully told me this, and they are in the process of finding out if spares are available. Watch this space.... (rivetting, innit? :D)

these are the closest we have -

not the sane but look nice.

Right. Although these are made by Belmar Engineering, it appears that they won't sell them to the public - although they _will_ sell them to Essex Boatyards, who in turn will sell them to me. For a tenner each, including vat and carriage. And I need 10....

Anyway, no more posts on this one from me, I promise! :D

Heck. Well I can still give you 4 foc, though they're in France. How come you need 10? You cant be adding a sunpad, and you can't have lost 10. Can you? This is indeed rivetting stuff :-)

I need 10 because my T40 doesn't have the factory coachroof cushions, it's got some inferior ones that were made up later and really don't work well at all. Fairline only install these fittings if you specced the sunpad when the boat was new - so that's why I want these fittings. Once I've got the correct factory fittings (and the luff track to go with) then I can get Tockfield to make up the sunpad for me on their whizzy cad-like machine.

So: given the price, can I say yes please to your 4? I daresay I can wait until mid-June - save the postage! :D

Yes of course they're reserved for you. Annoying thing is, I might have 6. Without going to the boat to rummage I don't know. And as you know my earliest trip to France is mebbe 3 weeks. What's your timing on the whole sunpad project? If you're in a slight hurry I could email your photo to the "Antibes team" (it's no trouble) and ask them to look/count. They're stored in one of about 3-4 places, so I can tellem where to look - it wont be a long search through all my 4 tonnes/2000 items of spare parts

Here's a thought. The number I have is the number that were originally fitted by FL to the fly of a phantom 42. They were taken off our ph42 when the fly was teaked, and we never refitted them, hence they went into my spares box. Anyone know how many of these are on a phantom 42 fly?

This thread will surely hit the 100 posts Jimmy :-)

You gonna need to book two SleazyJet seats, given your current "state"?

;);):D:D:eek::eek:

Just doing my bit to keep the post count going, you understand......;)

Given the value of the order jfm has just placed with them, I'd have thought they would have given him 10! ( He can then give them to anyone he likes......) Voila! :D

I'm not in a tearing rush. I still haven't resolved the whole beige silvertex vs classic blue/white sunbrella debate for the fabric, for a start... But now that I know I can definitely get the bits I need, I guess it would be helpful to know how many I need to buy from EBY. So if you could ask the question, I'd be v grateful.

4t of spare parts? You need a bigger boat...

OK, so I have some (and only some) sail boat bits I can't possibly need again, but what are you doing keeping cushion retainers you don't need, from a boat you don't have and haven't had for years?

I already know the answer BTW, "I kept them just in case, at some point, a mate of mine in Brighton was looking to replace some badly fitted cushions and finds that the Fairline parts are outrageously priced and tricky to source".

As a contribution to the 100 target, is teak OK as a verb? Can anyone decline it?
