I need a couple of deep rubber grommets for the cables holes in my masthead. Something like this, but preferably not with a delivery charge 6x the price of the actual grommets! :) Plate they need to go through is 6mm thick so inner depth needs to be close to 6mm ideally.

Any ideas on where I could find something like this? Prolonged googling hasn't turned up much.

Unless you're OCD about your masthead I'd get some rubber hose the right diameter, slit it and fasten it to the cable with a good quality cable tie.

Electrical heat shrink covers are a bit thin but you can source heat shrink covers for rope which are a bit more robust. My sources are Australian or China, so possibly not much use to you - but try googling - you may find something that fits your needs.

You could follow Penfolds advice and shrink a rope sleeve on top of a slit hose with your cable(s) inside, neater than a cable tie.

We have only just discovered these covers and use them where we have sewn an eye, to protect the stitching. Sewn eyes are quite common, covered with the 'rope' heat shrink - it seems an accepted practice for specific application by rope makers.

Just an idea.

Harting make a range of long and double-ended grommets. The one for 7-8 mm cables appears widely available e.g. at RS Components. Details of the range are well-hidden. Suggest you enquire.
