I have just recently purchased a 2002 Regal 2150 LSC. Im trying to locate some of the optional extras that were available when she was the current model. Does anyone know when i might be able to pick these up - i have already tried regal directly but no luck.

Cheers in advance,

Ben

the reason I ask is cause the american boatbuiderds tend to use perko fittings, it might be worth your while looking on the perko website

the boatbuilders rarely make any of the parts.. they just buy them in from others, and its quite possible parts from 6 years ago arent still available.
As for the transom shower, thats probably just a jabasco pump and a few fittings. You could try Rodney Damien at Regal Florida,- he seems to be Mr Parts out there, so I d guess he can tell you what they currently use. Or trail throught the internet for boat parts in USA- I m sure you ll find those bits and pieces.
As for the grill, I think that might not be very cost effective. Have you looked into camping bits and pieces to see if there something that might do instead?

the name? Regalboats.com.. try the website for contact details, but the cost of shipping might be a bit high.
I assumed you meant a transom shower? You could try over on PBO chat and see if anyone can give you the name of some boat factors over here. If its just for the transom, you ll just put a Y piece into the sink/basin tubing, so it uses that water tank too.The shower head has a push button on the handle which opens the flow of water. If you arent fussed, you could just do with some tubing and a plastic bathroom shower head. Probably be £10 instead of loads!
If its for in the the heads, I think you have quite a big task with drainage etc.

The 'grill' is one of these which you can pick up from any camping shop
http://www.outdoorgear.co.uk/outdoorgear/ctl3870/cp19531/si1941678/cl2/GELERTPORTABLEGASCOOKER

The official version has a plastic plate with hole and butterfly nut that the portable gas cooker fits over and the 4 feet hold it in place, on top of 'wet bar'. Designed for use in calm conditions, not at sea.

If you are after the 'wet bar' then be careful, as the design layout of the 2150 changed mid way through production and internal layout of cockpit changed a bit. Don't have transom shower on mine, but as has been said elsewhere, you can put one together quite easily.

As a subsidiary question, can I ask you why you bought this boat? There have been a sudden spate of questions on here about the 2150, and I'd love to know why so many people are buying them, as an owner of one.

Bought ours because it fitted our requirements, which a few other cuddy type boats we looked at didn't (SWMBO wanted a cuddy you can sit up straight in which seems to be a rarity) and we happened to do a pretty good deal on one here in the UK. It's also finished better than some of the others we saw. All in, they seem a good boat for the money. Most seem to have either V6 or diesel power so I think ours had been sat around for a while because of the V8 in the back, I didn't see any other V8's for sale unless I looked in the US.

My main problem is not knowing much about the boat, the brokerage knew next to bugger all about the features on it so I'm having to find out by trial and error which isn't great. It's the little things, the 'oooh, what's that bung for' kind of questions.

Kind of a long story really. I sold my Fletcher 3 years ago basically due to not having enought time to use it or when i had the time the time to use it the conditions were awful.

One of my neighbours recently brought a little Avon for fishing, went out on it and realised how much i missed being out at sea. I started looking again at Fletchers, and happened to stumble on a really cheap Regal. So went to see it, loads more for your money, superior build quality, new trailer, comfort and fond memories of sleeping on one when i used to go out with my mates clubbing when i was 17 and was too wasted to go home!
