Where best to watch the AC final race tonight?.....

Anyone in Europe with a satellite receiver could have aimed their dish at Astra 3A (23.5°E) to have received the Austrian channel ServusTV (11.595MHz-H). They ran the whole series from the America's Cup live feed, uninterrupted by any advertising or commentary.

For a land-locked country they had good coverage in a subsidiary programme but that, of course, was in German. During the races the only audio was from the crews on board. Altogether, great coverage and excellent digital quality on a good TV screen. I watched every race on board in Italy.

Incredible that for a sailing nation people were having to ask how to get a live feed and to be thankful to watch on tablet screens from YouTube or wait for a limited extract on a parochial news channel.

+1
Unfortunately the media think we're a footy nation. BBC sport has direct links to footy, rugby union and rugby league, but you have to search for sailing, then get nothing of any use. Perhaps AC is elitist, not grassroots stuff so not for the Beeb

No recognition of the biggest participation event (after the marathon) supposedly being the RTIR.
What coverage there is oif that is all the money boats, not the class 8's. They'll be the elitist ones then...
