I read loads of posts where someone says, "oh, I was there as well that day" or something along those lines. So I wonder if we should have a thread whereby we list our "live" locations in the event that another forumite wants to say hello or borrow a cup of sugar.

Of course it may be that you want to hide away and not get noticed!

Possibly listing your intended port of call may even result in an impromptu cruise in company.

I'll start the ball rolling:

Brixham marina visitor's pontoon. A somewhat forced stay en route from Teignmouth to Salcombe.

Set off and the sea was horrible. Thought it was just the tide around Teignmouth entrance but sadly not. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Henry :)

We are on Brixham marina, hope weather improves as am planning on returning to Dartmouth saturday afternoon, I wouldnt have wanted to go too far with how the sea was today

Hotel in Poole.
Boat in Cobbs Quay.
Did Brixham back to poole yesterday, due to duff forecast for the next few days, not wanting to get stuck.
This morning, torrential rain, and discovered that the canvas was not as waterproof as originally thought. Mini-mutiny results in hotel booking for one night.
Hope to see some flying machines tomorrow.

Sat on boat, really should be in the jolly salor or valshedas, im Brighton bound tomorrow but by road as working there, looking forward to the sunny weekend???? probably a run up to bucklers hard, I can feel a bbq coming on sat night, should have had a viewing today on boat, yet another no show and no word from the broker to say hes not coming, shame but shes all blinged up, so ill enjoy her nice and clean for the weekend.

Weymouth right now, in the Marina. Torrential rain this morning; kids not happy as wanted to go on the beach. Can't complain too much though as we got to see the red arrows here, and others, Weds. Tomorrow we're off to Poole Quay for a couple of nights then all too soon homeward bound :(

Just got back from dinner in the Yacht Club. What lovely people and a view to die for.

Pontoon still a bit lumpy - no, nothing else available and because of my high profile they wanted me in full view of the cameras for the TV documentary series. The price of fame!!

There you go, several boats out and about. A chance to put faces to names. Aqua, feel free to pop along and say hello tomorrow. Not sure what time we are off but it won't be too early. Probably around 11.00 ish subject to the weather.

Henry :)

Meant to say, boat is Nine Eleven Virgin !

Unfortunately anything from the east in Lyme bay is bad news. Came back from Guernsey yesterday in NE 4-5 ish and it was bumpy all the way, no protection at all until we got into the Dart.
All much better tomorrow, you should be fine to get to Salcombe. Brixham YC is great, many good nights there.

a good thread but for those of us that don't have access when on the boat we miss out - equally I could have put Flower Power up last night easily enough for nothing (mobile home about a mile from Cobbs).

We ran back from Yarmouth across Poole Bay in that light shower yesterday - the bay was strangely empty except for a couple of large dark shadows that I took to be a Navy presence associated with the Air Show off Bournemouth, which looked spooky lit up by the lightening through the rain.........

I bet today and the weekend will be better (as we have to give them a miss) so expect wind and rain when we head back down Monday looking to head over to the CIs for a few days.

Present Location Portland Marina Clear Skies slight breeze, had a splendid day out on the water and Lulworth Cove, couldn't get the grand kids out of the water, even cleaned the underside of the boat, amazing 90miles plus and still a slight growth left, quick brush and its off, hopefully repeat day tomorrow.

Regards

Salcombe with very weak mobile Internet (that's how you access whilst afloat !).

Lovely crossing from Brixham yesterday, welcomed with absolute and utter chaos in the harbour. Big boats, small boats, ribs, dinghys, taxis you name it. Fantastic, roll that lot up in your col-regs pipe and smoke it :)

What a place, took a town mooring just by the fuel barge. My dream boat from the end of our pontoon at Haslar is just the other side (a rather large grey "Vision"). Crabbers race last night which was fun, explored the area in the tender for a couple of hours and walked along the beach. The girls have found the shops - oh Joy!!!!

Spent a lovely hour chatting with Tom (Aquapower) in Brixham before we left so the thread works!!! My first ever meeting of a virtual person and I'm sorry to say he was quite normal. Not someone in a Duffle coat with badges sewn on, broken glasses, clutching a carrier bag stuffed full of boat show brochures who still lives with his mum ;) Got a bit of an insight into the direction Broom are heading and it sounds as though they might be worth a visit at Southampton.

May be heading to the river Yealm today we shall see. Seem to be following a Princess V42 around so we may have company for the return journey across Lyme Bay.

Henry :)
