Started out on Tuesday, nearly every other lock unmanned. Shepperton, Penton, Old Windsor.
Today, Caversham was not only unmanned, but the access gate going upstream was still padlocked at 1030. Boat in front had passed through, not shut gates, so there was no safe way to get into the lock. I had to slide round the safety fence which was potentially dangerous.
Is this what we should expect for the fee we pay? I won't start about the lack of pump-out facilities.
