Where and What

Yep Beaumont Quay, Taken a few years ago when I managed to sail all the way up there on a good tide. There are power lines across about quarter of a mile down stream which to be wary of. (a little saggy)

Beaumont Quay ?
picture from Jack Cootes East Coast Rivers 1981

I'll have to try attaching the picture again!
Here is the pic. Taken by my sister, Judy Jones, it shows her late husband Graham in the dinghy with their two then-little boys. The older one Tim, now has two daughters of his own who live in Bosham and are following in their great grandad's wake by sailing in shoal waters but in Chichester Harbour not the East Coast. The smaller one in the pic, Nick, now also has two daughters who live in Pin Mill and are definitely following the Coote family tradition of boating in muddy places.

Thanks, That picture sums up East Coast sailing holidays for me. My son now lives in Queensland, dawn to dusk sunshine and coral beaches but he still says he had the best childhood, getting muddy and cold in leaky wooden boats on the East Coast.
Your Dad's books were our bible.
