When this........

In the spirit of this thread

swmbo dug out the following:

"They didn't think much of the ocean:
The waves, they was fiddlin' and small,
There was no wrecks and nobody drownded,
Fact, nothin' to laugh at at all."

Not far ... plan to be heading in the Morray Firth to Inverness. On the hard this winter and we'll see what the spring & summer brings. House move is to a Steading in a bit more rural area..

I guess the new marina, just west of the Kessock bridge. It was shaping up well when I was there last year, and a good departure point for west coast cruising.
The rural NE looks fabulous Alf, hope all goes well.

forum first started we had all sorts of postings of boating daring do; exploding toilets, getting caught out in bad weather, the odd grounding.

Now what do we get? Oil analysis,Doral gone bankrupt,Trucking costs,Hello and help please,Heavy vibration,Help Princess........... all in chronological order.

Does nobody actually go boating anymore on this forum?

Oh sorry HLB, I know you do! :D

Im boating pal....always ! hows the weather at your end ?

Yep spot on.
Not just shades, hence the quotation marks. I didn't know it but MrsH did and quoted it then dug the anthology with it in for me to refer to. Wasn't she kind?

Excellent, thank you - cheered me up no end. I used to love the Stanley Holloway rendition often on Forces Favourites (?) in the late 50's early 60's as I recall. "Can you hear me Judith? What's the weather like, there in Cyprus/Germany" etc etc. Wonderful early long distance broadcasts!

Yes, that's the anthology - Stanley Holloway monologues. You are very welcome.
