3rd / 4th July works for me.
Cap'n Morgana had indicated that this clashed with some other piratical affair that he was mixed up with when I pressed him for a date a while back.
Maybe we should be a bunch of mutinous dogs and go with that weekend anyway.

OK OK.... i've consulted and checked with the stars, i've asked the forum widely, i've cast them pirate bones into the fire..... and...
The first weekend in July it is....
This years theme.... pirates of ye olde world cup......

With a HW of about 5am it's going to be easy to get there. Slip down to Ramsholt the night before then out with the last of the ebb and take the flood down to Pirate Island. Yo ho ho.

Quite so. I say we adopt a modern version, somewhat akin to the Nintendo Wii where you point sticks at the screen (or perhaps children ) and shout loudly.

Pointing children only works when said children are little. Once they reach 12 (next week in the case of my offspring) they tend to give you a whithering look say 'No' (or something less repeatable) or request extra pocket money.

Erm, no club, no rules, no committee, no bars on attendance, no dress code, no behaviour code.
In other words, whoever is there is in attendance, sort of.
Pirate attire, barbecue kit and food to cremate together with your means of slaking your thirst.
Most of us have some sort of Pirate flag aboard, hoisted to masthead or higher.
