Ropes, even hitech expensive stuff can differ slightly in size when new. Once it's been put under load for a bit it should all bed down to what it should be.

And then after that, once the cover starts to wear it fluffs up and the rope increase in diameter again!

Max rope sizes should not be taken as recommended rope sizes. They are the maximum size that will fit not the best size. Always go a size up in block or down in rope for better results.
