before i re-invent the wheel

has anyone done this before, i guess mounted from an existing outboard motor bracket ?

i am tempted to forget the outboard bracket, i'd have to source one for a start and use the existing black attachments.


i just need some light duty wheels to pull it up down the slip way on a regular basis.

as it won't be stored on a boat / in a bag, i don't care how hard they are to remove.
but they will need to flip away from the downward postion to allow for rowing !

What about an old shopping trolley? The type pensioners use, not the supermarket ones. Ditch the bag, bend the frame/chop and re-weld to match the fittings on the dink? The flat piece that was under the bag could sit under the tube. It would have to be removed to go afloat, but some of the frames fold flat so wouldn't take up much room. Or variations on a theme.

I have a Redstart (just a bit smaller than the redcrest) and at the mo I use a pair of wheels that clamp onto the outboard bracket.

It does mean you have to pull the boat upside-down but it does also mean you can unclamp the wheels and take them with you in the boat rather than dealing with a trolley etc.

Not perfect but works ok. Cost me about £30 quid new.
