WHAT'S THE QUICK AND DIRTY IN REPLACING A 'SPEEDSEAL' COVER ?

Can you not make your own O ring with this kit??
Possibly I think you'd need to make a lot of O-rings to justify buying that.

Also the glueing area for a 1.5mm section o-ring is very tiny

I have made O-rings using those kits when in the merchant navy and they were ok for large cross-section rings but not for very small ones

When you want an O ring you are usually far from a place that sells the correct size. I have used it to make small rings and it works for me. So yes it would be cheaper to buy the rings, but the convenience of having the right ring when you need is worth a lot.

I must have two of every O-ring on board. Mind you, the boat has been owned by a compulsive hoarder for the last 26 years!

Every time I buy any consumable item I always think "I'd better buy a couple more for spares".
