What's the most sought after boat?

MINE!

Well I can dream. Shares available...

So you unscrew this, and put it safely here, then oopps...
All - IMHO, BTW, FWIW and NWGOI

Re: Riva Aquarama?

These must be worth loads and loads more than they cost new.

Lower down the scale...newish boat um...those Botnia Targas hardly ever seem to come up for sale. Also f'line turbo 36's.

Also, all those Dunkirk Little Ships. Of course, the reason they all rushed over in such massive numbers is that they immediately realised that the trip would add at least fifty grand to the value of their crappy old heap of junk.

Re: What\'s the most sought after boat?

Sealine, they will give you the same price, you paid for your old sealine,if you buy a new bigger one,,,,,,,,,,how can they keep it up/////

Apologies re dunkirk Little ships!

Very sorry to cast aspersions on the motivation of the dunkirk ships, especially as we are all familar with the attitude and capabilities of the thames and kent/sussex boating fraternity. We owe a debt of gratitude to the crews who are still, as then, highly ratted.

Thank you, Lets us not, FORGET them.....

I agree Rich /forums/images/icons/smile.gif Especially the odd few that actually went. Most were just 'called up' but never went anywhere /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

DLS\'s

Oh sacrilege! My father fought during the war you know, but eventually the two other boys moved to a different school.

Are there any Little Ships in original condition, with bullet holes and strafing down the decks?

Re: What\'s the most sought after boat?

You can say what you like about Bayliners (especially as I don't have one any more) but I sold my 2556 in about 2 weeks for about the same money as I paid for her without even advertising. When I bought it it had only been on the brokerage for 4 weeks.

Syd also bought a 2556 at about the same time which had only been for sale for about 3 weeks, sold it a year later within about a month and made a few quid on his.

Rich
I though that was just a promotional thing for the diesel 23footer. Does it apply across the board now. I'm interested 'cos I've got a new S37 and I can't believe that they will give me my purchase price in a trade up.

Re: What\'s the most sought after boat?

Sea Ray I have one, did some research and asked a few brokers they seem to hold the money here and in the States and if well cared for shouldn't take much of a hit come upgrade time or take an age to sell. Must admit build quality after my Bay is definatley alot better strange as they both come from the Brunswick corporation.

Re: What\'s the most sought after boat?

BINLINERS must be the smell of the evostick holding it all together that gets poss buyers in state of confusion then.

Just hold tight dear it will not be so rough when we get round the corner, trust me.

Re: What\'s the most sought after boat?

I think most dealers will give you nearly what you paid for a boat providing you're trading up in their range. Obviously, some of their margin on the new boat subsidises the loss on the p/x and Sealine are particularly good at this . However, the chickens come home to roost when you eventually stop trading up and you want to sell out only to find the boat is worth a lot less than you paid for it. Best option of course is to sell existing boat privately and then negotiate a big discount on new boat. At least then you know the true market value

Re: What\'s the most sought after boat?

Pretty confident in mine selling seen several recently up for more than I bought mine for two years ago
must be the build quality and sound reputation.

"The Med has got me" (no not the Medway the other Med)

Re: What\'s the most sought after boat?

The only reason your boat has increased in price is due to value added by numbers of ace sailers who have been on it,bit like HMS Victory etc.

Just hold tight dear it will not be so rough when we get round the corner, trust me.
