Very successful organised trip this past weekend. Several big boats and 11 in total plus 5 others from Cardiff.
Most water I've had on the b hammerhead for a few years.
Don't know how their financial model works with the dredging, but they are trying really hard. Give Iain plenty of notice and they will accommodate appropriately.

Agreed they are trying hard. Managed to break (minor) the dredger the other day. It's back up and sucking mud now.
Mud is very very soft, so even if you do dry out, it's not like a rocky beach.

It depends on the composition of mud. Some mud have mixture of liquid but some are semi-liquid mixture.

We were over there 12- 14/5/17 moved twice because of mud dredger not working waiting for parts, Ian is working hard but its a never ending job a lot of mud slippage from under pontoons so when a berth is cleared next tide slippage half fills it again.
needs a big dredger in there but then all boats need to be moved one side so massive job.
BUT still had a great time and a very warm welcome as always.

The mud slippage is good news as it shows progress is being made and also that the slipped mud comes within reach of the dredger. Once it is all done it should be fairly easy to keep it clear. It's a thankless expensive task at the moment but will eventually bring the marina back to it's original state. Obviously the cheapest method would have been to clear the marina of boats and pontoons and use diggers and lorries but that would be just about impossible. You have to give management and staff the highest credit for sticking with it.

I agree mud slippage is good but I think the dredger is too small for this full task ok for keeping on top of things once all the mud is removed,
Ian has been hard at it since last September when I was over there last, Three steps forward then two steps back,
But full credit to him he works hard.
