Whats the Easyest Toy to tow ???????

Just wondering what towing toy to get for the kids for next year Id like something thats easy to tow and skims the water rather than sinking in and being a bit of a lump to tow
Are those tube types things best as there less drag than a wide thing
Ive already got a triangly ish ring type thing that tends to sink a bit with my biggest boy on it and it feels like your pulling water as well as the toy

All the toys have a lot more drag associated with them than people think - even a basic ringo.
Once up and on the plane however the drag reduces to almost nothing (dependant on the weight of the person of course!). As many give operating speeds of 15knots or below prepare for a lot of drag!

From a slightly different perspective the best all round inflatable tow toy remains a good banana (or shark). Those with a nominal 3 person capacity can give hours of fun to all ages - including beign towed slowly around an anchorage by the tender for tots or flying around in open water with the teenagers.
You will find chariots and wings, diamonds and 2 up tubes but they are generally very singular in their abilities - ie high adrenaline or quiet contemplation....the banana can do it all.

Watch out with infalatbles -you don't want them inflated too hard or they will submarine and stop you dead. If they're a bit soft, the front can bend up to go over the waves rather than being dragged through them.

just getting back into 'fishing mode' now - family don't think much of the weather prospects going forwards!

got out with a friend once in the last 6 weeks, weekend before last I think Sunday started clear and dead calm finished with a snotty S'thly, and we had rays to 20lb, 9 tope, bream, maccy, scad and more dogfish than we have seen for a long while! Fished a fair few miles due south of the needles.

Need the winter species to appear but it will take a big tide and bad weather to bring them in - water is just too warm (despite it never really getting hot his year!). Best guess would be 3 weeks time for the whiting..........

Thank you Wiggo, you have just explained why I have put off my nephew from ever letting me tow him in a Ringo again.

He didn't seem to find it particularily exilarating to be towed underwater.

Next year, I will let some of the air out and entice him back on to it with Mars bar/Toffee Crisp, or something.

Hard way - me too! after too many douches up the old rear end this summer I sticking to driving thanks!

have a double trouble. Only, i m a bit wary of two kids smacking their heads together in it. plus side is its very stable, and although kids find it fun to do together, they seem to prefer a run on their own.
But beware; i can see its very easy to get neck or face injuries in these things, especially with children. no wonder insurance companies are few and far between who will offer cover....

The best one we have is this windglider , it seems to be the item of choice with all visiting kids and ours when a little younger (now they only want to Wakeboard). The windglider whilst a bliiming good towable also gets them interested in kayaking, sailing, windsurfing, so literally hours of fun all around.

In comparison we have on board, 12' infalatable trampoline, 1 man ringo, 3 man ringo kneeboard, banana, water skis and apart from the jetski or jetrib the windglider wins every time. Really cracking toy, packs down into a reasonable size too. P
