The op was asking for cool names, not tacky puns etc which belong in the other 97 boat name threads. Mine's pretty cool,"Yeti". I really liked "Goose Pimples" (tied up in Sov marina what is she out of interest?) cheers Jerry.
1)One of our best local racing boats plays the song Blue Bayou after a race , and its name is
BLEWBYYOU
2) Our boat is the Eagleswing after Isaiah: 'And He shall bear you up on wings of eagles' (though I hope He doesnt ever have to.) the dinghy is EagleScout...
3) Overheard at the annapolis boatshow: man in line with 4 daughters:
'Dad, we HAVE to have a head on our next boat!"
"OK girls, then we'll call her ' GETTINGAHEAD'
Seen on a Marine's boat on the Chesapeake: 'WEEKEND PASS'
Most of these names are as naff as those beloved by hairdresses, nail bars and fish and chip shops. You know the kind of thing "Cut Above", "Nail It", "Ron's Plaice".
All boats are female and should have feminine names...... Jenny Wren, Saucy Sal, Pauline B., Lady Madonna etc., etc.
Tom is right of course, but I don't think the other suggestions are being made entirely seriously. The original request, for "the coolest boat name", is a little bit silly, and it's getting answers that are a little bit silly in response.
Many years ago (when I were just a lad) there was reputedly a horse called Hoof Hearted - I thought it would make a great name for my yacht, but I chickened out when I imagined myself trying to explain it to my Gran!
