Hi

I am looking at removing the old treadmaster pads that are on top of the wooden coachroof of Windthief.

This is prior to tidying up the coachroof and repainting etc. Not too sure I will replace the tm yet.

What is the accepted best way to remove the pads?

Cheers
Paul

Hard work and a good command of below decks vocabulary!

If the correct adhesive has been used then you will have to physically scrape with chisel type implements - carefully to avoid damaging the substrate too much. You may find if they have started to lift some of it will peel off.

I did my cockpit sole a couple of years ago, 'orrible job!
I used a combination of a wide SHARP wood chisel, heat gun and scraper and belt sander, then random orbit sander.
Agree with Twister Ken, changing techniques occasionally, relieves the boredom and gives a bit of rest to one set of muscles.
Best of luck.

Thanks

Well that's put that way down the list of things to do;)

It looks like there is a potential for a follwo on thread "what's the best way to renovate treadmaster:D:D
