Hi,

Since buying elle nearly 2 yrs ago we have had two new carpets laid and the current one looks like S^&*.

Is there some kind of special carpet for boats that I am unaware of? What are your views on wooden floors?

Bricks

Wood is great. See internal pics of TCM's boat on B1's gallery.

According to this month's BI (the yacht Bart wotsit) the latest thing is housebricks laid in cement herringbone style. In the saloon! Looked like a Surrey driveway. Was horrid

Think you'll find whatever carpets you buy. They quickly start looking rough. It's all the tomato soup drunk whilst rounding the headlands! Also lifting them every other day, to look at the engines. Dont forget the midnight feasts and chinese whilst pissed. Best just to get a roll end from the carpet shop.

Recently redone the cabin with B&Q carpet tiles at £1.99 each - looks great and easy to replace a small damaged area if needs be. Also done cockpit with roll end from carpet shop £25 - bathroom waterproof tight twist. Looks good now but suspect may need changing afetr a couple oif seasons just because of traffic.
