whats the best boat for going through rougher seas?

[ QUOTE ]
The sportscruisers struggled (apart from the Windy) and one or two had quite offputting experiences. Personally, if it wasn't for swmbo I'd go for a Botnia Targa,

Just goes to show that not all sports boats are the same. Quite often people buy on the most internal space and comfort in cabins and miss out on sea keeping. Decent deep V etc. is what's required, which is why the Fairline sports and the Botnia score well.

Personally, I think the Botnia is as ugly as hell, but some hereabouts 'absolutely' luv 'em! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

ugly shed on a hull I could live with, just for the rough condition performance. It's the inside that's the problem, though I could live with that too.

Yes, but a bit of wire and some blue LED tat will bling them up a bit.

Not been mentioned yet - but the Lochin 33 would be my choice. there is one moored on the Hamble and I lust after it every time I pass.

Yum!

Not sure whether I'd prefer that, a Hunton, or a Targia. All have living accomodation restrictions for family/friends, so more fun for rough weather fanatics than family boating.

Yep!

Hunton please!

Watch it in "Sahara". 315 Yanmars on jets... fun!

Blew one up, used another two I think (read abt this 2+ years ago, so can't be sure)

One was sold into Dubai after filming afaik.

Surely the best type to go "through" rougher seas will be a wave piercing hull ... like Mary Slim I'd hazard to guess... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I am afraid that the original question is a bit too vague to give the best answer ... size, budget, speed, cruising area, etc., would narrow the real alternatives...
