What's the appeal of River Boating

To be fair, there's not that many pubs on the Thames that you can actually tie up right outside. And some of them won't let you - Wallingford?

Theres dozens Tony must try harder, Shillingford, Benson, Mouslford, Pangbourne, Reading, Wargrave, Henley, Bourne End, Bray, Windsor, Runneymeade, Staines, Shepperton, Kingston, all bars within yards of the riverbank, Your making me sound like a right alcoholic now :)

And a real boater on the Thames no less.

And you, sir, are bending the truth to try and justify your argument.

I referred to a lack of pubs where you could tie up right outside.

Oh, and you've left out the Plough at Long Wittenham which actually is one as long as you have reasonably shallow draft - or should that be draught ? :D

What is the minimum draft?

That's 2 pubs now for thousands of true boaters.

I don't think so, have moored outside Pubs or bars in all those locations, maybe not to frontage owned by the pubs but all would be closer to the river than the Plough at LW, which I went up to on Saturday with 2'6 draft.

I went up to the Plough at LW about 15 years ago with a draft of 3'11", I haven't risked it since! It was when the Vine was still open so that tells you how long ago it was!
