What's Neptune marina like these days?

We stayed ages ago when they were rebuilding and toilet blocks were portacabins. Since then we've always stayed at Ipswich Haven but berths are very difficult to get into - not much room between pontoons and sharp turns needed. So is Neptune OK these days and easier to berth in?

Bob, there's loads of room to turn in Haven, even allowing for your droopy tiller, even I can manage.
Neptune is a bit nearer the pubs and discos 'tis true, but I doubt there is more manouvering space.

And... the ablution block is miles away... out of the marina gate next to the office, cross the road to the yard get, and a dark yard to walk across... We've always found haven one of the easier places to manoeuvre in and out...

Was in Neptune for winter and enjoyed it. Even singlehanded with long keel was able to turn. Bit of pub noise.

OK we'll stick with Ipswich Haven but despite all the reassurances Suffolk Yacht Harbour which we left this morning had much more room between pontoons

Depends... In SYH just hope you get onto C (huge amounts of room) not P (OMG tight...)

PS, Neptune I believe is more expensive than Haven....

Spent months in both marinas and Ipswich Haven is a winner by a long shot. The showers are better, The staff are more friendlier.
