I have recently bought a boat, but there is no paperwork that tells me what it is. It is registered as an estuary yacht 6.09m LOA, 1.52m beam and 0.85m graught. It is bilge keeled with a skeg mounted rudder. The sails are blue and have the legend C III. There is no inboard engine, but a transom mounted o/b plate.

Any ideas what it could be. I do have a picture that I could mail to anyone that thinks they may know what she is.

Beam of the Caprice Mk 111 is 1.91 metres ?
It was built by Glen Ridge & CO, Designed by Robert Tucker.
Constructed in glassfibre.
Should have a locker on the deck at the stern.
Looks a bit like the leisure 17.

Thanks for the pic.

No doubt at all - that is a Caprice MkIII.

I had a MkI many years ago. You've got a great little boat there. I crossed the Channel many times in mine in up to Force 6 with no worries. (Preferred Force 4 or below).

Wish I still had her.

Fair breezes & good sailing,

Bob
