S coast is currently experiencing wind speeds of up to around 70mph, though the peak seems to have passed at about 10.00am and its mainly around 55kts now. Thankfully the tide is fairly low. Chimet peaked at 65kts at 10 am but is currently down to below 50kts. Heavy rain accompanying! It looks to be just the south and south west catching this one though the rain is further North

A couple of boats blown over in the boat park at West Bay: https://www.westbay.co.uk/webcam/

Blowing a bit in Exe estuary but doesn’t appear exceptional. Just got a message from Sutton Harbour in Plymouth that all boats appear to be safe and sound.

Sunny with some clouds arriving in a light easterly breeze, about 21°C. Lots of rain last night though. Will have to see if the liveaboard's BBQ is on tomorrow or not. Considerably better than last year this time, where we had a month of rain here in Sicily. Can't say I miss the gales and the drizzle of misery since sailing away from the channel. Do miss the Lifeboat tea though, but the Italians have great coffee instead :)

Very blowy down here in Falmouth. Quite a few dinghies have sunk and a ketch moored up the Penryn river is currently shredding its foresail. A few roads are blocked due to downed trees. Looking forward (not) to umpiring a hockey match in Pool later, will be very damp!

Moderate NE trade winds settling in. Aroun ten to fifteen knots, sea state slight. No cloud, low 30's in the shade. Regular dips in my pool.

Well you did ask........

Very windy and lots of wet here in Zummerzet, down on the Tamar where the boat is it was apparently 30kts+ gusting 60kts. There was a fin-keel yacht on the mud on the Devon side opposite Cargreen this morning but I don’t have any more details. I won’t know how ours faired until I get down there tomorrow.

Just hear on the weather forecast that there was a gust of 109 mph at the Needles. Any one out in the Solent today?

that yacht on the Devon side has been there for well over a week now. Apparently about 34 foot. Our Commodore has just emailed members to say MOD police say 2 yachts sunk in the Tamar (not known where or size etc). Also, some boats have sails 'flying'! Thankfully my 22 footer is now out on the hard.

Interesting, it wasn’t apparent from the post I read. Now reported that a second boat is aground in the same area but not seen any photos. I think the two boats sunk are at Saltash.

Just seen the Commodore’s email - I assume you’re at CYC too? I would feel better if I could get a pic of our boat, but we’re 100 miles away and I can’t get down until tomorrow.
