What\'s gone wrong with the YBW Boat for Sale board?

I looks as though someone has been 'improving' the brokerage section of the YBW boats for sale board.

The new layout is awful, what used to be on one page takes up 5 or 6 and you cannot search beyond the first page without being confronted with every single boat for sale.

Please, let's go back to the old format. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Crap, isn't it?

The old one was a bit clumsy, but when asked about sailing boats up to 20k didn't offer multi-million mobos.

Looks like they've shot themselves in the foot with this one.

Useless in present form. Won't even find boats that I know are for sale.
For instance; Put in OVNI - leave all other fields blank - brings
up one boat - there were 50 to 60 on old site

agreed- it's rubbish now. Tried looking for my own boat -couldn't find it.

It is truly awful, and very amateurish. I was one of the forum members invited to YBW Towers last year to attend research sessions on changes to YBW. A lot of the session I attended concerned this new "Boats for Sale" section, and I was very critical of the proposal. Sadly, it seems it's being implemented without changes.

If you liked the look of the old "Boats for Sale" section, you'll feel comfortable at the YachtWorld website!

Hello pvb - I was there too. They didn't listen to me either! The boats for sale doesn't actually work at all. First page told me there were 52 Moodys for sale and when I clicked on the next page there were 2504 for sale most of which weren't Moodys.

All change is not progress.

Agree, it is absolutely useless. I have gone back to look at boats which I know are available, and in the case of my search, a list of 30 odd has become a list of 4.

The way it goes to broker boats first, rather than a choice, seems to indicate they think more of the brokers than the private sellers. YBW used seem very thoughtful in the past. Now they just seem to try to make a quick buck. I'm off to apolloduck etc.

went on last night, couldnt believe it, my mate is looking to spend £200k and he is incandesant, plonkers have shot em selves in the foot!! boatshed here we come, am just going to phone ian of poole to see what effect it is having on his biz

couldn't agree more. user unfriendly, untidy, unreliable and frustrating. wonder whether the powers that be will react and go back to the site that worked or waste heaps of time and try get the new one 'improved. not often i'm amazed how bad 'progress' is but this had me shaking my head in disbelief

It seems to have gone back in time, something you would produce as a school kid on his gcse practical. It was very user friendly in the past and quick on getting to the boat you want to look at...but now seems to be a joke, no apparent logic to the site now...

progress is supposed to be a forward looking exercise not a blast to the past????

Even yachtworld have changed their format recently, but is ok once you get use to it..looks like the only option from now on....


or maybe its what ybw want, us not to use it so they can ditch it...and gain more server space... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif what a joke...
